A small tote hand bag using a ‘Boro’ inspired patchwork of vintage Japanese handwoven shima cloths from the Nagoya region. The overall colour and the plain handyed cloths are inspired by the sakabukuro bags used to strain rice mash for making Sake. The Asahona ( hemp pattern ) print cloth brings long life and vitality. Hand dyed jute tape is used for the bound top edge. It has a base made from military surplus tent canvas and a heavy calico lining with an inside utility pocket and accessory loops. This bag has 20mm vegetable tanned split cowhide leather straps with copper rivets. Brass 5¥ coin on handle.
